woof...camera...action! FAQ's
Your dog is your family. Yes you probably have 34,000 photos of your dog on your phone but none that you can call a piece of art. A beautifully lit, perfect, lovely, funny, quirky, goofy portrait that is so clear and sharp that you can blow it up big, hang it on your wall and smile when you walk past it when you remember how much fun and laughs you had at the shoot. Your dog is worth it!
I love dogs - I've got three of my own and I still want to photograph yours!
Pretty much anywhere in the great outdoors at a spot you and your dog love. Think park, boardwalk, beach, lake, stream, pool, dock, rooftop or how about some great architecture as a location? Brownstone stoop anyone? New York skyline? Your favorite old convertible Mustang? If you are in NJ I'm partial to Liberty State Park for a wide variety of options in one spot. Or if you'd just rather stay in your backyard thats fine too! I also offer a "baby it's cold outside" session for those peeps who don't want to do a shoot in the snow or be out in the cold weather and a senior dog home inside session for those doggos who don't get out much anymore.
I love to travel. So don't let distance stop you from contacting me. I don't have set travel fees at this point so just tell me where you are at and I'll figure out how we can make it happen and if there would be any extra charge involved. For example if I have 5 people in Florida wanting to do a shoot if I can schedule them pretty close together I'd do a road trip and go visit all my Moss Creek friends! Contact me and I'll get back to you ASAP to discuss!

Each session is different. I priced them based on the average amount of time and lighting that each one requires-all sessions come with fully retouched beautiful prints and social media files. Find out more about available sessions here
I get it - you are googling a lot, comparing prices and what everyone includes - thats smart I would do the same. I hope you will look at my photos and really see the difference between my quality and the quality of some of the low ball photographers you will find out there. Make sure you are comparing apples to apples. My mom taught me "you get what you pay for"and I know she was right. With me you are getting 20 years of photography and lighting experience, the ability to make important decisions on the fly and ideas that others with less experience might not think of. I make amazing images you will treasure forever. You can read more about me here.
Or schedule a call and see if we are a good fit! I look forward to working with you and scratching your doggo's ears.
Please note that for each client, I average about 12 hours of work including preproduction, the actual shoot, post production digital imaging, retouching and deliverables. Sometimes people look at the session fee and think "wow that's a lot for a session fee!" - you should know its the work that comes after that takes the most time, especially if there is a lot of retouching involved.
I'm an easy going person who loves dogs - I've got three of my own! - I agree its kind of funny that I want to photograph yours since I'm with dogs 24/7 but I do! Most important is that we have fun together on the shoot... thats a promise that's easy to make. People tell me that after spending an hour with me they feel like they have known me forever and I think thats pretty cool.

Each session varies in time spent. "oh the places you'll go" session on average is about 2.5 hours. "baby it's cold outside" session about 3.5 hours because we have to use much more lighting inside your home and there is set up and break down time involved. Studio sessions about 45min to an hour and senior dog sessions really depend on the dog. For all sessions I don't watch the clock when we are shooting, we finish when either your dog lets us know he is "done" or we know for sure we shot some great images.
Its a fact that early morning and late afternoon have the most beautiful light. A lot of times the location we choose will dictate time of day that we can shoot too. We'll talk all about that during our creative call. Bottom line is we can make it work no matter what conditions we are working with! Think outside the box...how about a black dog on a night shoot... lit with red light...sound interesting?
Nikon girl here! I use a Nikon D5 and all Nikon lenses.
Yes! I spent 9 hours in a pool once shooting for a Coppertone ad... I love being underwater. Unfortunately at this time I do not own an underwater housing (long sad waterlogged story) but if you would like to do a water shoot I would be happy to give you a session for free if you pay the the rental costs to get my camera underwater just for the opportunity to get more water dog shots in my portfolio! It's a win win! Send me an email and lets talk about it!
Its completely up to you. Most people like to have a clean freshly brushed dog but I'm partial to the hot mess. Like my own Gracie girl here:
I have patience like you have never seen, and having trained three dogs of my own (two who have an agent!) so I have some skills in that department. Just take a deep breath and then laugh all the way through the process - we can do it! together.
No worries. Safety first! Most dogs I photograph are on leash that is attached to a stake that screws into the ground. We don't want anybody seeing a squirrel and running across a road into traffic! I have mad photoshop skills and can get rid of that leash in post production no problem. Check out my photoshop magic here "behind the curtain"
You can be sure you will be able to see your dog's eyes in my shots. I use on location lighting for my shoots. I use two lights and a bounceboard to make sure his beautiful eyes pop!
Yes I LOVE puppies! If you have a whole litter let me know and we'll work something out.
Yes of course! I have a Senior Dog session especially for you. I never want to hear someone who just lost their dog say "I wish I took the time to get a great picture of him" ever again.
Each session comes with your choice of a fully retouched print on different surfaces. The sizes available are based on what surface you choose to print on. Metal, Acrylic or Canvas.
You can see the specifics here: Oh the places you'll go, Baby it's cold outside, Senior Dogs, Studio Shoots
Digital files are available at a separate cost.
Parking in NYC is all I can think of right now. I love NY but wow I should have gone into the parking lot busine$$.
If you are in another state, or out of the country and would like me to come on a special trip for your photoshoot we can discuss travel arangements and costs together.
I love to travel so don't let distance stop you from contacting me and talking it through!
I'm so happy you want prints! Best way to enjoy the photos of your doggo! Prints other than those included in your session are available at an additional cost. I offer printing on metal, wood, glass , canvas gallery wraps, acrylic and standard prints for framing
Yes! My vibrant style looks really great on eye popping metal (if I do say so myself!) Click on these links to find out more. Glass, metal, wood, acrylicand canvas gallery wraps
I retain copyright to all the photos. Your images are for your own personal use, you are free to share them on social media. You cannot sell or license them. I will give you a print release at the time of our shoot.
Yes! You will be given a print release at your session. Each session comes with a facebook/instagram sized file of each of your selections. You also have the ability to download a number of proofs from your shoot. These downloads are sized to look great on facebook and instagram - they are for sharing - not for printing. Please share and tag your photos @woof.camera.action and #woofcameraaction I'd be enternally grateful if you let your friends know how much fun you had at our shoot!
Yes as long as they are from the same household. After two dogs I will have to add on an additional 50 dollars per dog because I will be shooting a lot more and that, in turn, adds A LOT of extra time for me in post production. If you have a whole litter of puppies or a house full of pets let me know and we will work it out!
Yes! Most of my experience is with dogs but I have photographed a few cats....and a few mini Higland cows. Lighting is basically the same no matter what animal I am photographing its just a matter of being patient and finding the way to connect and get the shot. Give me a chance to photograph your pet! zebra...giraffe...horse...hedgehog....whatev's I'm game.
During the second half of "oh the places you'll go" session, you can jump in for some shots with your dog. During this part of the session I use available light and a reflector. Generally these shots are more fun, on the fly and not so much a "posed portrait"
If you would like to do a posed family portrait WITH on location lighting outside instead of shooting the "main portrait" of your dog thats fine too, just let me know ahead of time what you have in mind and we'll work it all out.
I've got a few colors at any given time...let me know what you have in mind! Feel free to bring props and we'll figure out how to make it cute.
Please fill out the form here and I will be in touch ASAP to answer your questions and schedule our shoot!

Prices are subject to change without notice. The only way to lock in current pricing is to sign and send back a contract with the 50 % retainer.
Additional print prices do not include shipping (if necessary) and applicable taxes.
You will be given a release form to sign at the shoot. I retain all copyright to the photos and have the right to use them for self promotion, on my website, printed pieces etc. as well as the right to have them considered by my stock photo agency for possible sales.
You will be given a print release and assigned rights to make prints from hi res files and to share low res files on social media. Your images are for your own personal use, you are free to share them. You cannot sell or license them to any third party.

I'll be watching the weather too and be in touch with you if it looks like it won't work for us - we will reschedule asap!
